Woman suffers “severe” injuries after Blackfriars hit-and-run

A woman was taking to hospital with “severe” injuries after being struck in a hit-and-run near Blackfriars Bridge on Tuesday afternoon.

The 33-year-old woman was walking when she was struck by a black BMW at around 2.15pm. An ambulance was called and she was taken to a central London hospital.

A police spokesperson said: “We believe that the car drove off and we are trying to locate the driver. No arrests have been made.”

Blackfriars Road was closed to traffic until about 5.15pm.
