Police release image in hunt for man after woman seriously assaulted in Bermondsey

Police are hunting for a man after a woman was seriously assaulted in Bermondsey.

Detectives have released an image of Garnet Russell, 35, of no fixed abode, who is wanted on suspicion of assault.

A 35-year-old woman was attacked on Coopers Road at about 9.20pm on Wednesday, June 20.

Russell is believed to have connections to Southwark and north London.

At the time of the attack, he is suspect of carrying out, police say he was he was wearing a black jumper and blue jeans.

Members of the public are advised not to approach Russell if he is seen but to call 999 immediately.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police on 101 and quote CAD 8648/20Jul or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
