Nunhead man hospitalised with burns and smoke inhalation

A Nunhead man was hospitalised with burnt hands and smoke inhalation after he was rescued from a house fire  on Thursday, October 15.

The man was led to safety by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

The fire within the three storey house in Gibbon Road damaged part of the ground floor.

Two fire engines and fourteen firefighters from Peckham and New Cross fire stations tackled the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
