Man dies after Woolwich stabbing

A man has died in hospital after being stabbed in Woolwich on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, who is yet to be named and said to be in his early 20s, was found by police officers and paramedics on Tellson Avenue suffering from several wounds.

He was pronounced dead several hours later, shortly before 9pm. His next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem is due to be held.

Police have opened a murder investigation but, as yet, no arrests have been made.

A crime scene remains in place.

Detectives say the attack may have taken place by some outdoor garages.
