Five injured in Peckham assault

A man was taken to hospital and four others were injured after an assault on Sunday night.

Police closed off Asylum Road near Old Kent Road to investigate after they were called to reports of an injured man just after 10.30pm.

On arrival officers found a 21-year-old man with serious injuries to his head and arms and four other men with less serious injuries.

He was taken by London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital where he was detained in a stable condition.  Detectives from Southwark CID are investigating but no arrests have been made at this stage.
