E-fit of suspect issued after alley sex attack

Detectives have issued an e-fit of a man they wish to identify after a woman was sexually assaulted.

The victim, who was in her 20s, was walking alone in Monson Road, New Cross, when she was grabbed by a man who dragged her into an alleyway and attacked her.

She screamed and the man punched her before walking away towards Old Kent Road at around 3am on Sunday November 9.

The woman did not require hospital treatment. She was taken to a Haven, where she received specialist support.

Her attacker was described as being of Mediterranean appearance and around 35 years of age. He was wearing a hoodie with tracksuit bottoms and white Air Max trainers.

He is around 5ft 5ins in height and of chubby build.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation should call officers from the Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command based at Lewisham on 020 8721 4640.
