Man denies attack on heavily pregnant woman in Peckham

A man has pleaded not guilty to charges of child destruction and grievous bodily harm with intent following a brutal assault on a heavily pregnant woman in June, which resulted in her losing her baby.

Malorie Bantala was attacked in Talfourd Place, Peckham on June 15 by two men who kicked and stamped on her stomach even though she was 32 weeks pregnant at the time.

Kevin Wilson, 20, of the Longfield Estate, SE1 appeared at the Old Bailey this morning to deny the charges against him after he was arrested in June.

A sixteen-year-old boy was arrested today on Thursday October 1 on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH and child destruction. He was taken to a south London police station and later bailed. A seventeen-year-old boy was previously charged with child destruction.

A trial date has been set for November 30.
