Man charged with rape following Grove Vale incident

An East Dulwich man has been charged with rape following an incident near the station last week.

Gengiz Guvener, 46, of Grove Vale, was charged on November 3 with three counts of rape and two counts of sexual assault committed against one female victim. The 46-year-old man was also charged with affray.

He was detained by police following the incident on October 27 and taken to a central London hospital. He was discharged on November 2 and appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court the following day.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on December 1.
