Appeal for witnesses after stabbing victim drove into police cordon in East Dulwich

Police have described a chaotic scene in East Dulwich where a bloodied stabbing victim drove his car into a police cordon.

The incident in Lordship Lane happened on Sunday 1:20pm.

The 26-year-old driver slammed his brakes as he approached a police cordon where a collision had happened shortly before.

The stab victim got out of the car, with blood stains on his torso, and asked the officers for help.

He was taken by the London Ambulance Service to hospital, where he is expected to recover fully.

A Met Police statement said the stabbing was likely to have happened shortly before 1:20pm, and taken place at the south end of Lordship Lane, towards Sydenham Hill.

No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries continue.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating and are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information to contact them on 020 8247 4863. You can also tweet information to @MetCC.

To give information anonymously, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org.
