Youths injured in punch up outside Camberwell McDonald’s

Police yesterday arrested two youths after receiving reports that a fight had broken out outside the McDonald’s in Butterfly Walk, near Camberwell Green.

Officers attended at 5.30pm and established that two youths were involved in a fight surrounded by a number of onlookers.

The boys, aged 16 and 17, were found to be suffering from minor injuries and were arrested.

They were both taken to a south London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Twitter users had suggested the incident had been a stabbing, and the Evening Standard and Daily Star websites reported a “knife fight” had taken place.

However a Met Police spokeswoman told the News they were unable to confirm these details.

Officers from Southwark CID are investigating. Call 101 to help the police with their enquiries.
