Southwark Council’s annual free firework display to return to Southwark Park on bonfire night

The annual free bonfire night fireworks display will be back with a bang for its thirteenth year on November 5, Southwark Council announced this week.

This year’s event will be ticketed, free of cost, to help control numbers and is one of the few remaining free events in London.

Councillor Johnson Situ, Southwark Council’s Cabinet Member for Business, Employment and Culture said: “Southwark’s annual fireworks is a fantastic community and family event that has grown massively over the last few years.

“While that is great news for the borough, our utmost priority is to continue to ensure the fireworks remain a safe event for all.

“That is why we have decided to ticket the event again this year to help us manage crowds.

“Tickets will be free but will need to be secured online in advance, so please do sign up as early as you can and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Southwark Park on November 5.”

Tickets will be released on October 3 to local residents with a general release one week after.

Gates will open at 5pm, with food, drink and entertainment available until 8pm. Last entry to the park will be at 6.30pm. To get tickets, visit www.southwark.gov.uk/fireworks
