Borough Market celebrates 1000 years with Southwark Cathedral ceremony

Borough Market celebrated its 1,000th anniversary last week with a special ceremony at Southwark Cathedral, complete with music, poetry and – of course – food.

Songs were sung by local choirs and a poem was commissioned to mark the occasion, written and read by Suléy Muhidin, a former Southwark Council apprentice.
